A Bosmeri study on the word 'elf'
A Bosemri study on the origin of the word 'elf' as writen by visiting scholar Ulwean
It has often plagued me why the races of man use the term
'elf' to discribe my kind when the much more appropriate and respectful term is 'mer' I have often mused at it being a derogatory term, perhaps in the same way the Nords use 'milk drinker' to insult a person perhaps not given its wide spread use.
I once spoke with an imperial on the matter and he simply said it was the only term he knew to use, upon my study of this I have discovered that the atmoran known as Ysgramor used Ehlnofey texts to create the language the ancient Nords used upon their colonisation of tamriel, then the idea struck
me perhaps it is not a derogatory term but a corruption of a word that was never rectified, Ehlnofey-ehlf-elf, strange that such an innocent mistake would carry over so many generations.
Perhaps they just found it easier to pronounce.
I leave these notes now on the hands of the imperial library so that perhaps future generation might see it and perhaps enlighten them.

Otherwise, a good piece of writing (good writing style) and a reasonable theory.
