So why did you join the fight?
I'm curious as to why all my fellow Stormcloaks joined the fight against the Empire and the Thalmor. What happened to influence your decision? What bit of lore sparked your interest? Or was it just being unfairly executed?
Re: So why did you join the fight?
well it was a tough call for me in all honesty neither side really tiped it for me at first, the empire was happy to kill me because i was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and hearing what had bee said of ulfric by people close to him i was leaning his way either.
then one day it hit me if i accept my premice and this may not go down well, that ulfric isn't the man for the job but the cause is right, all the nords are fighting for is the right to worship talos openly as they did before, why should they be told that we dont worship your god so you cant either, the muslims didnt lie down and take it during the crusades so why should the nords take it now.
just to clarify what i meant by ulfric isnt the right man for the job he is a good military mind and tactician but he isnt high king material in my opinion he is to head strong and cant see the pic picture.
sorry if i have ofended my fellow stormcloaks but thats how i feel

Tell me, I'm curious why you say Ulfric's too head-strong? Have you listened to the man speak? Have you talked to him? Or are you just basing your judgment off what others have said about him?
Re: So why did you join the fight?
no no, not at all i have exhausted every diologue option and listened to his many talks with Galmar, and i have the greatest of respect for him but what i mean is he just cant seem to see past the empires betrayal, and i get that believe me if my government suddenly turned around and said by the way the people we just beat in this war and us have signed a treaty that bans the worship of your god i would be pissed but i would be able to see past that and wonder why it is so important and who it really was that made that decision.
and i know that he thinks the Thalmor are the real threat but he underestimates them, maybe its just me but i cant help shake the feeling that this whole things seems off somehow

Re: So why did you join the fight?
The telling fact for me is what happened with Hammerfell. That completely discredited any excuse the Empire makes, and gives every ounce of justification to Ulfric.
Re: So why did you join the fight?
hammerfell had a better advantage then cyrodil the Thalmor had to sail to hammerfell only one way there and also could not get passed the deserts, the same would be true for skyrim small choke points of entry in harsh terain only two ways across the border, while in cyrodil they had a direct route in the massed in Valenwood and Elswyer and marched towards white gold tower and decimated the legion on all fronts what was left after the empire retook the city would not have been enough to make an army capable of defending the wide open lands of cyrodil or following the dominion back through hostile territory and back to a land that had not been touched by war and could very well have fresh battle ready enemies waiting for them.
please dont mistake this for me defending the empire under Titus II it crumbled because it and he were weak thats why the dominion attacked then and not before they have only themselves to blame

Re: So why did you join the fight?
My Reasons may seem silly but the goverment of it all with the Empire, the Stormcloaks, and the Thalmor. I understand all there reasons by reading into them and reading people fight over them in lots of pointless agruements that always seem to be the same, but I personal believe skyrim as its own kingdom is able to hold its own like hammerfell, others disagree. But for me the main reasons I support the Stormcloaks isn't any of that but the way I was treated. Ingame fighting with the Imperials it seem like a job and the way they spoke they didn't seem to care. But with the Stormcloaks I felt like I was really there brother and I was fighting for something more important. ever since I always supported them in my games just by the way my character was treated by my brothers and sisters in arms, not to mention in the last mission of the Imperial Legion one of there rallying speech he was giving was a pay raise, that made me angry. Sorry thats just my little rant explaining how and why I supported the Stormcloaks,

I agree with the others. The Imperials seemed too oppressive. While the Stormcloak had a better reason to fight.

Re: So why did you join the fight?
Lol honestly it's a number of reasons... Not only for being nearly unjustifiably executed... but because... fighting with the Stormcloaks made me feel like part of family... They fight for what they believe in... Fight for there home land and the free worship of Talos, The Divine whom created the Empire, which I think was a mistake and an insult to both Talos' name and the so called Empire that exists today... Not only that... but Jarl Ulfric Stormcloak's speech's put real fire in my heart and make go ape shit and kill every last imperial in my way. So as said before... We Stormcloak's aren't just a "rebelious" army, we are a family.

I chose the Imperials since all Ulfric cares about is Ulfric.
I agree with their cause but the only reason the Thalmor are in Skyrim is because of the uproar Ulfric and his rebellion caused. Speak to Alvor, they could worship Talos before in secret and no one would persecute anyone. Then Ulfric comes along and gives the Thalmor a reason to come, clearly the Thalmor anticipated this. Perhaps due to his torture, because of this the Thalmor view him as an asset.

Stormcloak 4 life
For me it was easy; Stormcloaks are not killing innocent travelers by being in the right place at the right time.
Ulfric is for Skyrim, not Ulfric. Ulfric is for his people, not Ulfric.
Yes, the Dark Elves are marginalized in Windhelm. Guess what? They are marginalized in other cities too, but for some reason, Windhelm gets all the hate.
Pfft. Whatever, we see the truth and that truth is Ulfric and an independent Skyrim.
(My next play through was a Dark Elf ranged expert. I sided with the empire, but sold out to the Stormcloaks later on.)
